While this view may be getting a little bit boring, it's necessary to keep a real life perspective on how long this kind of a project actually takes.  Let's say you put eight hours a day into something like this with normal 15-minute breaks along with a 30-minute lunch.  You see those ceiling tiles?  This is only the third day and there are 16 up.  Only 16 out of the 80 that I'll be hanging and that doesn't include painting and faux finishing them.  On top of that I'll have to take another day to fabricate the ceiling moldings using a router and my new table saw ( I killed the old one) and putting all that stuff up, too.
The new lighting?  I'd estimate it all took me about six hours and the new fixtures ($80 at Home Depot....Ka-CHING!) still have to be mounted after we paint the ceiling.
It's 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 5th, 2008.  Many people are out on the town having a good time and I'm about to go put up three more tiles and sand some joint compound.  Yee ha.
