All federal returns are either filed via the e-file method or by using the U.S. Postal Service. E-filing is the most efficient and the one preferred by IRS. When your return is e-filed it can not be lost and is acknowledged as having been received the next day. No delay and no chance of someone losing the return before IRS can get it.
