| 8/15/2005 | I suppose this is as good a place as any
to start on this room. With Christina's bedroom being wrapped up her door had to be torched to burn off peeling layers of paint. This meant that the landing now had one brilliantly bright white door and the rest of it looked horrible. The game plan is to rush this room into an acceptable condition with paint and hope for the best. At the moment it's cluttered with tools and an overflow of boxes from the move 17 months ago. The idea is to clear it out, paint it and pray that it looks okay so that we can hang all of our family photos and get away with a simple upgrade as opposed to any demolition work. The wallpaper below the chair rail will be the biggest problem as it is old and discolored. If it can be cleaned, great! If not, we have some work ahead of us. |
| 2/18/2010 | I just read what I wrote above
almost five years ago. What an idiot. Throughout the next few entries, and by peeking at the Landing's Photo Page, you'll see that this section of the house has become a major undertaking. It will have doors moved, and walls taken down. Part of it will become our Laundry Room. A closet will vanish in order to become a doorway to the Second Guest Room. Another doorway will vanish all together. Here we go! |
